Podcasting for Old Time Radio Memories. If you are interested in helping in this project, please contact me as soon as possible. This is a great oppertunity. Remember, you do not have to be a DJ or have some great sounding Radio voice. This project in the truest sense is from people who are passionate about OTR and have in depth knowledge about a particular serial or program. Sorry for my address mix up, it is podcastinnovations@gmail.com.
OVERVIEW OF PROJECT My plan is to have each day with a specific area. This will be implemented as we get more people involved. Initially, will start with 1 day a week, and build as more programs become available. For example: Monday-Comedy Tuesday-Drama Wednesday-Western Thursday-Mystery Friday-Scifi Saturday-Big band,or music in general Sunday-Variety In this way we can build a group of individuals contributing to areas of their interest and knowledge. It will be necessary to bank programs (store them) and use them over time. This will insure that we don't run out of programs and cause a programing disruption. The suggested procedure will be as follows: 1. A schedule will be established. There will probably be several interested in all the areas and will rotate. 2.Each program will have a introduction with historical information, who, what, when, and a brief plot intro to the program. Generally this will be any were from 1-5 minutes. Many of the programs have scripts available. The programs chosen should be ones that have who were the actors, what year, and any interesting information about the series. 3.The program will be played 4. Sign of with happy trail The podcast will be about 30 minutes with intro and comments adding about 5 minutes. I am sure that there may be adjustment made as we get better at presenting. It is my desire to give the listener a little history of these programs to give them a true Old Time Radio learning experience. What will you need to record your Intro? The following will get you started: Microphone recording software, Audacity is free, http://audacity.sourc... Save as a mp3 Sent to me via email as an attachment to podcastinnovations@gmail.com I will mix the episode introduction with the episode of the program. I will creat an generic OTRM intro and a conclusion to the podcast with Happy Trails. I will post the complete program with proper RSS feed to site to the website. At this time it will be ready for subscription. I will provide instructions for all the OTR groups on what podcasting is, how to listen, how to subscribe, and what software is used to do so. Let me know what area(s) you are interested. Don't forget the if possible it would be nice to try to keep things in chronological order for the episodes. When creating the episode Introduction try to give historical context, who the actor were, when it was first broadcast, ect.. Hope this give you more information and look forward to receiving your introductions. Remember, nothing in stone. We will be developing with several individuals and each will have their own style. The programs can be tweaked. The individual styles is what makes podcasting so good, the humanity of it expressed in real programming. When you have a Introduction to a episode let me know. Don't hesitate to contact me or make suggestions. Thanks Dennis podcastinnovations@gmail.com |
